For The Love Of Avocado

My son Joshua will tell you that one of his most favourite things to eat is an avocado. He simply loves avocado and can have one every day whether its scooped out of the skin with a teaspoon or on toast or in a salad, this is his choice fruit.

When having the chance to shoot avocado, it is always great to see how food editors, stylist and consultants make use of the avocado. So on this shoot with Heleen Meyer, I was exited to see what to do at home for the family. We shot various step by steps, one of which was of how to make your own guacamole which forms part of the Woolworths In-Store promotion presentations. Along with these images was a main image to be used on the Woolworths recipe cards.

Now that I have my set of recipe cards its time for me to stock up on avocado and make my own guacamole.

Rooibos – Skin Care

Living in South Africa, one is familiar with Rooibos as a tea, but its qualities have also been used in skin care products. I went to photography Ariane at the beautiful Beaumont Wine Estate in Bot River. With a team from African Extracts and stylist Danny Toua we took our journey to the Overberg village.

The day itself was beautiful day, with lots of sunshine and home made lemonade to cool us down.

Ariane is the first ambassador for the African Extract – Rooibos skin care products.

Today is day 5 of a photo-shoot for Virgin Active South Africa. We are in the process of completing a shot list of 50 images as part of a revamp of the recipes that are available to members once they have logged in to the website. 35 of these images are food and the other are generic food produce.

Our location for the week has been Plush Props in Biscuit Mill Woodstock, which has been a bit of a prop heaven with all the options available. Lisa Clark has been doing the styling with her assistant Sara cooking up a storm in the background while Jason has been assisting me with the photography.

Kambrook Appliances

I was asked to shoot an advertorial that would go into three magazines. The appliances photographed were part of the range of Kambrook which is now avaialbe at Clicks stores around South Africa.

For the shoot we had to find a suitable location, and we chose Peter Osborn’s shop in The Palms in Woodstock. Danny Toua did the amazing styling.

Theses images will be appearing in the latest issues of Sarie Bruid, Fairlady Bride and True Love Bride.

Samsung Shoot

These images were shot for a Samsung magazine. Whether it be a camera, e-reader or cell phone, we had to make sure that every shot had a Samsung gadget. We shot on location at Mwanzoleo in Clifton, Cape Town. It was a beautiful day in the Mother City. We had a great shoot with models that did what they needed to do and of course, a great stylist makes the shoot happen. Styling done by Danny Toua.
